  2. Right now, there's no apparent way to get Fruux to not present the existing Events categories, to the iOS Reminders app. Worse still, when you go to delete a Fruux Reminders category, if you're not careful (thankfully there is a confirmation dialog, but still!) - you could end up deleting your entire Event category - clearly, not what you're trying to do.

Please add a simple preference setting to the Fruux website, allowing you to turn off 'echoing of' Events categories, into the Reminders app.

    Thanks!

Make sure to email support with support questions in the future – you’ll get your answer much quicker there. :)

This is already possible. Just make sure to select what you want to store in a calendar when creating it (events, tasks or both). If you select only “events”, it won’t show up in the reminders category.

Newer versions of both iOS and OS X handle that in a quite smart way. If you delete a calendar that is able to store both events and tasks in Reminders.app, Reminders.app will create a new “events only” calendar, move all events in there and then delete the “events & tasks” calendar.

  3. Need sync function with my handheld, Google nixed support.

  4. it does no good to wait for google. you should put them under pressure! how much would it cost to pay the author of the present available applications to provide them for fruux users?

even if adroid gets native support in the next release, that will leave a large number of current, non-upgradeable android smartphones behind, which will stay in use for several years.

Unfortunately thats not possible, because the CalDAV standard has no support for it (yet). Apple for instance even decided to pull this feature for local calendars in recent versions of OS X.

But we’ll keep a close eye on the standard – we also like it as a way to have another layer of organization around calendars that “belong together”.

  6. Having all information on the website would allow to see the data stored in your cloud and also to access these information through a webbrowser even from devices not linked.

  7. you can look at a working implementation at tine20.org - but they use AGPL as license. If patent restrictions apply, you could use geo ip filter to not allow this for U.S. users...
This would allow users of windows phone, webos, android and all those 'enterprise guys' to sync... great!

This idea is a duplicate and tracked under the following two main ideas:

    ActiveSync support for mobile devices:
    http://fruux.uservoice.com/forums/153774-general/suggestions/2793139-sync-with-exchange-servers-add-activesync-suppor

    Sync with Exchange servers:
    http://fruux.uservoice.com/forums/153774-general/suggestions/2820044-sync-with-microsoft-exchange-server

Please add your votes there, if you’d like to see the feature in a future version of fruux.

  8. Would be great if you would assit with notes sync. FOllowing instructions on web are a little complicated for a non tech like me.

We’d love to, but right now thats not something we’d have the development resources for. We’re supporting two open standards (CardDAV and CalDAV), so if somebody would provide a connector for that on the Symbian platform you’d be ready to go.
For us it would be hard (and not smart) to invest a lot of development energy and time into a platform with a dramatically shrinking user base unfortunately :-(

There seem to be some projects for CardDAV/CalDAV on Symbian out there, but we don’t know how far/good/usable they are. If you try them, we’d be very interested in your findings:
    http://www.symlab.org/wiki/index.php/Organizer/CalDav
    http://www.symlab.org/wiki/index.php/Carddav

Another path that could potentially bring fruux support to Symbian is by supporting additional protocols. We have some interest in SyncML for example and if we’d implement that in the future that might also result in Symbian support as a side-effect.

Sorry that we don’t have better…

  11. whats about synced Notes? This would be very nice and an importand feature!

We highly prefer high quality personal support. Problems are mostly that specific anyway, that there is little benefit (besides confusing) users (they might think that their problem is the same when it is in fact something entirely different) at the moment. We plan however to extend our FAQ with documentation on how to use certain features.

Documenting common problems is a bit against what we stand for – if there are common problems, we fix them instead.

So it sounds like you might have a specific problem, which is a good case to get in touch with us – our response times are super quick, even on the weekend. Give it a shot! ;)

  13. Use the "Journals" calendar option as a way to sync with the standard iPhone Notes app.

  15. It would be really great if you could synchronize contacts across LinkedIn, Facebook and Google Contacts and Exchange Server to keep contacts up to date across platforms.

    There are three separate ideas:
    - Google Calendar support:
    http://fruux.uservoice.com/forums/153774-general/suggestions/2792763-sync-with-google-calendar

    - Google Contacts support:
    http://fruux.uservoice.com/forums/153774-general/suggestions/2781406-add-capability-to-sync-with-google-contacts

    - Exchange / Active Sync support:
    http://fruux.uservoice.com/forums/153774-general/suggestions/2793139-sync-with-exchange-servers-add-activesync-suppor

Please add your votes to the respective idea (or both) or add a new specific idea for any services you’d want to see supported by fruux in the future.

  16. Add the possibility of sync directly with a Google Account (Google Contacts and Calendar), without any Android device. I think there is a huge demand for this feature on the market.

We’d love to support SyncML, but it looks like this standard is going away rapidly. Modern devices and apps no longer support it and are moving to CardDAV/CalDAV.

  19. Please! Make something that can take calendars from Outlook 2011 on a Mac and sync with iPhone. There is nothing that will do this. It should work with invites as well, not just your own created emails.

    Please.

While we’d love to support every app on the planet, we’d rather not support Outlook on the Mac (at the moment). Outlook on the Mac is not really widely used and thus it would (right now) be a bad decision for us to invest a lot of time into supporting it (and then lacking this time for other tasks).

Sorry! Please keep the good feedback coming!

  20. I really want to beable to share google task lists with another user, and sync changes between the two accounts.
