Server to Server Syncing
....meaning that fruux can be configured to function itself as a device vis-a-vis other sync services (e.g. OwnCloud).
This would allow the user to (a) have copies of his contacts and calendars on two different platforms of his/her choice for back-up purposes and (b) choose for every device with which of the two services and the corresponding settings he/she wants to sync any given device.
The advantage would be (a) a permanent backup and (b) more degrees of freedom for the syncing setup with other devices and/or individuals.49 votesThat is actually planned. We already support it for Google Contacts, but we also plan to support generic CardDAV/CalDAV “client-mode” in the future.

Android: Make possible to change the list from task detail.
In the task detail, there's a cell where you can see the name of the list in which that task is, but you can't change that. There's a little mark in the right of that name, where you would make that, but it's disabled.

Additional contact card fields and/or allow for custom field generation: phonetic first, last, middle name, hobby, interest, manager, etc
Implement additional fields in the contacts web app. See some ideas within the vCard page on wikipedia and its extensions. Some that I personally like are phonetic pronunciation of first, last and middle names, hobby, interest, etc.
10 votesThanks for your suggestion! This is in fact planned.
Just to clarify: We already support all custom properties you can think of – it’s just our contacts web app that is not showing all of them. If you have clients that support them, we’ll of course sync everything. -
Support repeatable tasks / recurring events in webapp
One of my favorite features of Mozilla Thunderbird is the ability to create repeating tasks. I haven't tested to see if a repeating task in Thunderbird will work with the fruux app for Android, but I certainly would love the ability to create a repeating task from the fruux app!!!
69 votesRepeatable tasks and alarms are fully supported, it’s just our webapp thats still lacking a bit in that regard. Adding this functionality to our webapp is of course planned.

Gravatar picture syncing for Addressbook
It would be awesome if you could support periodic syncing of profile pictures for the Addressbook from Gravatar.
The only issue I can see is which picture would you use if it's synced from Gravatar and then the user changes the picture of the contact on their phone and then it get's changed on Gravatar again? Maybe only sync profile pictures from Gravatar on contacts which have no pictures? Or just last update wins, always.
Thanks!
- Simon28 votesThis is definitely interesting, we’ll have to investigate if the Gravatar terms actually allow us to do that though.

Contact Request Form
Use the Contact Request Form feature to send out a secure link to family, friends, colleagues or other contacts. They click the link, fill out the simple form, and the address book gets populated with up-to-date contact info.

Hybrid view for colleagues (hide details of personal events)
I would like to share just one calendar with work colleagues which includes all work events & full details, but only free/busy info for personal events.
So, it would combine my ‘Personal’ calendar with my ‘Work’ calendar to provide a read-only ‘Colleagues’ view for colleagues. Not sure whether this ‘Colleagues’ calendar would need to be a full-blown calendar, but they should see it that way when they subscribe.

Support address book groups in webapp
There is also no place to look at the contacts who are in one particular group.
It would be very helpful to me, even necessary, to be able to go to fruux.com and select only one group at a time.
75 votesWe’re planning to support this as soon as possible. The problem is that there’s no real standard for groups yet (e.g. Apple uses a special non standard vCard for groups, Mozilla Thunderbird uses a different special vCard – none of those are standardized).
All of that will luckily change with the vCard 4.0 standard, which we plan to support as early as possible. So once CardDAV clients support the new vCard 4.0 standard, we’ll also definitely support that, which will result in cross-platform support for groups.

Allow sharing of your contact card with other fruux users
Allow to share your contact card with other fruux users so an update e.g. Of your address gets promoted instantly to all users your shared your card with. You should be able to decide in detail which fields (email, phone, etc.) will be shared with another user.

Promote upcoming features more clearly on the Fruux website
It would be nice if the upcoming features such as the Calendar webapp, Android app, etc. were better promoted on the Fruux website.
To find out about those, I had to delete my account and get a feedback email from one of the co-founder :) I probably wouldn't have deleted my account if I knew that those 2 features were in the pipe.

SMS notifications for calendar events
It'd be nice if SMS were sent for upcoming calendar events (similar to the email notification idea already posted here).

Provide an interface to merge duplicate contacts
Plaxo had a great interface to identify and then manually merge duplicate contacts. It would present the offending contacts and visually mark which entries would be present in the "merged" card. With Google Contacts sync coming (I'm suffering from many duplicate contacts as a result), it would be great to have this.
50 votesWe plan to provide such functionality in the future.
In the meantime: If you are using a Mac, the Addressbook application has a built-in deduplication function that could help here.

provide a "private" publishing option.
The publishing option for calendars is great! However, I would like the option to publish a calendar such that each event is just showing "busy" and not include the details (event name and place). Many thanks!

Custom Contact Labels
Thank you for adding Contacts web app!
However, unlike in Google and iCloud, it is not possible to create custom labels for entries (phone numbers and email addresses), such as "mobile LB" for the Lebanese Mobile number, "mobile UK" for the UK Mobile number or mobile 1, mobile 2 to set priorities for your contacts' entries, it is only possible to choose between the standard Mobile, Home, Other, ... labels

Provide more fine-grained sharing OR inter-calendar syncing
I would like to share read-only calendars with, e.g.:
- Colleagues
- Close friends
- The world at largeHowever, I don’t want them all to have the same level of info.
Close friends might be able to see exactly what I’m doing. Colleagues can see the details of events in specific work calendars that I indicate, but only generic ‘busy’ blocks outside of working hours. The world at large can only see public events I am attending.
There’s some support for this available by having multiple calendars and sharing them with particular people of course, but it would only…
