Sync with Google Calendar
I need a way to sync with my google calendar.131 votesunder review · Adminfruux (CEO / Founder, fruux) responded
We don’t have a lot of faith in Google APIs unfortunately:
Two factor authentication (2FA) for webapp
Two factor authentication are a great way to secure the network from insecure passwords. Hardware tokens like Yubikeys are the perfect way to give an alternative log in's. This can be set up as an alternative option in addition to existing methods. For example, a scenario where you may end up loosing your Yubikey, the primary method will still log you in.106 votes
Support address book groups in webapp
There is also no place to look at the contacts who are in one particular group.
It would be very helpful to me, even necessary, to be able to go to fruux.com and select only one group at a time.75 votes
We’re planning to support this as soon as possible. The problem is that there’s no real standard for groups yet (e.g. Apple uses a special non standard vCard for groups, Mozilla Thunderbird uses a different special vCard – none of those are standardized).
All of that will luckily change with the vCard 4.0 standard, which we plan to support as early as possible. So once CardDAV clients support the new vCard 4.0 standard, we’ll also definitely support that, which will result in cross-platform support for groups.
Support repeatable tasks / recurring events in webapp
One of my favorite features of Mozilla Thunderbird is the ability to create repeating tasks. I haven't tested to see if a repeating task in Thunderbird will work with the fruux app for Android, but I certainly would love the ability to create a repeating task from the fruux app!!!69 votes
Repeatable tasks and alarms are fully supported, it’s just our webapp thats still lacking a bit in that regard. Adding this functionality to our webapp is of course planned.
Notifications for events via email (per calendar option)
Gmail style notifications via email for calendar events would be absolutely fabulous. The time on which the email should be sent could be identical to the reminder set up for an event.
A checkbox option could enable or disable this feature for each calendar.51 votes
Provide an interface to merge duplicate contacts
Plaxo had a great interface to identify and then manually merge duplicate contacts. It would present the offending contacts and visually mark which entries would be present in the "merged" card. With Google Contacts sync coming (I'm suffering from many duplicate contacts as a result), it would be great to have this.50 votes
We plan to provide such functionality in the future.
In the meantime: If you are using a Mac, the Addressbook application has a built-in deduplication function that could help here.
Server to Server Syncing
....meaning that fruux can be configured to function itself as a device vis-a-vis other sync services (e.g. OwnCloud).
This would allow the user to (a) have copies of his contacts and calendars on two different platforms of his/her choice for back-up purposes and (b) choose for every device with which of the two services and the corresponding settings he/she wants to sync any given device.
The advantage would be (a) a permanent backup and (b) more degrees of freedom for the syncing setup with other devices and/or individuals.49 votes
That is actually planned. We already support it for Google Contacts, but we also plan to support generic CardDAV/CalDAV “client-mode” in the future.
Fully support custom field type names within existing fields
Let's say you have a contact and they have an office in London and Berlin. You then create a single contact, and enter the phone numbers and addresses for each office. You create a custom type for the first phone number of "London" and "Berlin" for the second. Same for the addresses. The fruux web app handles this perfectly. Unfortunately, the fruux Android app completely loses all these custom types. Please support this essential feature in the Android app. When supporting it, make sure to test with custom types that include spaces, such as "New Brunswick". Thank you in advance!47 votes
provide a "private" publishing option.
The publishing option for calendars is great! However, I would like the option to publish a calendar such that each event is just showing "busy" and not include the details (event name and place). Many thanks!46 votesplanned · 5 comments · Admin →
Synchronize with Outlook.com (formerly Hotmail)
I would be awesome to be able to synchronize my fruux contacts and calendar entries with Outlook.com (formerly Hotmail.com).44 votes
Sync tasks with the BlackBerry 10 app 'Remember'
BlackBerry 10 has an awesome task/note app that syncs nicely with Evernote. It would be great if fruux could make use of BlackBerry Remember as well.37 votes
Windows Phone 7 Support
Add the ability to sync data with Windows Phone 7.36 votes
Windows Phone 8 (Nokia Lumia 1020) Support
Please make sync with WP8 able.
After this Support i will go to pro.
Microsoft ‘secretly’ already supports CardDAV/CalDAV in their latest Windows Phone versions. There is a workaround to set it up:
Sync with Microsoft Exchange Server
I would like fruux to sync with my companies Exchange Server. I need to use this for networked email and calender services; It is great when I am on the road!33 votes
E-Mail address @fruux.com
In future it would be great if you would offer a matching email adress for you paying cusomers. I really like to have all services from one provider and the only thing missing from fruux currently is an email address.31 votes
Sync Safari Bookmarks between devices
Synchronisation of Safari Bookmarks between devices29 votesunder review · Adminfruux (CEO / Founder, fruux) responded
We’d love to support Safari bookmarks – unfortunately there is no open standard (yet) to make it happen. Ones there is a way to do it, we’d probably be very interested to make it happen.
