It would be awesome if you could support periodic syncing of profile pictures for the Addressbook from Gravatar.
The only issue I can see is which picture would you use if it's synced from Gravatar and then the user changes the picture of the contact on their phone and then it get's changed on Gravatar again? Maybe only sync profile pictures from Gravatar on contacts which have no pictures? Or just last update wins, always.

This is definitely interesting, we’ll have to investigate if the Gravatar terms actually allow us to do that though.
As a freebie, fruux should provide to all user one pre-filled calendar with the official public recurring holidays of their countries.25 votes
e.g. select multiple contacts and
- affiliating multiple contacts with one category/address book group or company
- delete multiple contacts at once24 votes
Useful for school schedule for example.24 votes
That is already fully supported by our backend with any compatible calendar app (https://fruux.com/supported-devices/), but sadly not yet by our webapp. For serious use, we highly suggest to use a proper calendar app instead of the webapp.
As a user I want to be able to add subscriptions to other public calendars from the webapp,
so that you can bundle all your calendars in frux and distribute it easily to the devices24 votes
We already support subscriptions, but sadly there is no standard for this yet. That’s why our current system works only for Apple devices (https://fruux.uservoice.com/forums/153774-general/suggestions/3584235-add-server-side-subscriptions-so-that-users-don-t)
In the current firmware of Fritzbox some internet address books like Goggle Contacts can be used. Unfortunately I found no way how to sync the Fritzbox with fruux contacts.
Please contact AVM to add this possibility to the Fritzbox firmware23 votes
That would be a great feature indeed! We’ve tried to get in touch with AVM about this a couple of times, but never got any response. It would certainly help if more AVM users would suggest that to AVM, too. :-)
Days currently start at 12 midnight, but my day proper doesn't start until 8.30AM, so when I load up my 'week' view, I have to scroll down each time to see my tasks. Would be convenient if the page would load at 8AM every day.23 votes
Sync with windows live account.22 votes
It would be so cool if I could pay in Bitcoin for your service.21 votes
Many devices and applications support groups in vCard 3.0 today by putting a delimited list of groups into the "CATEGORIES" field of the vCard. If you just had a simple textbox to edit the "CATEGORIES" field in the webapp, then the fruux webapp would work better with existing devices and applications. Even better you could allow filtering of contacts by the delimited items in the "CATEGORIES" field. For ideas look at how it is done with the grouping in the ownCloud demo.21 votes
The Team Edition plan might be a very good Solution for my Wohle family.
But pricing for team Edition is Way too much for family use..
Good compromise Fouls be 1.5 times the single user price plan21 votes
This is planned. Meanwhile, please just get in touch via http://support.fruux.com and we’ll see what we can do. :)
It would be great if the web app allowed you to edit existing contacts' photos (or add them if they don't already have them), and also to be able to add a photo to the fruux account profile.20 votes
This feature is planned.
For your own “avatar image” we’re using Gravatar. So if you update your image at http://www.gravatar.com it will show up in the fruux webapp.
We want to move from our own hosted calendar/reminders/contacts server (OSX10.8 server) to your system. It seems you have decided to remove a fundamental feature that we use seldom, but is important: attach a file to an event.
Example a hotel reservation: wherever a link does not do it, we attach a pdf to the event so that we can see it on phone or laptop when traveling.16 votes
We haven’t removed this feature. It’s just not added yet. CalDAV consists of dozens of extensions. So called “managed attachments” are one of them.
As of now it’s not a standard yet – it’s just a work in progress draft that Apple already implemented.
We plan to add support for managed attachments, too. But because we are dedicated to open standards we have to do it properly and not only hack it in there to support just one vendor. So this will take some time for the feature to evolve to a solid standard. We definitely have an eye on it.
Hi, I am one of those dummies.
I do not really understand what I can do and how I can do it.
It would be wonderful if there was a video tour showing me what kind of things I can accomplish with fruux and how .
This may save many help requesting emails about silly things.
Right now, fruux is maybe a bit in the “Made by nerds and for nerds” stage. Now that we’ve brought fruux (development-wise) to a state where everything is coming together and as stable as we want it to be, we want to make everything easier and better documented starting next year.
Thanks for your input!
In the meantime: Don’t hesitate to send us your questions! There are only stupid answers. :)
Found out the hard way that Apple Time Machine doesn't archive any of the CardDAV addresses. Would be good if fruux could archive snapshots of these so that they are not lost is they are accidentally deleted or lost for the CardDAV account!18 votes
We’re already versioning objects, so you basically already have that functionality. However it’s not yet accessible via the webapp, but we plan to provide it as a feature in the future.
I'd like more control over my company's brand when sending out calendar invitations. As such I would love to have the ability to customize the event invitation template used by everyone in my team.18 votes
I imagine this is not trivial, but it could save bandwith and cpu time if on webcal:// urls you delivered the http header etag. There are apps (icsdroid or thunderbird lightning) that seem to respect that and send you the If-None-Match header. You could reply with status 304 if there is no update...17 votes
The ability to drag and drop calendar events would be very useful. This is something I made use of daily with my previous provider.16 votes
