  1. A search function for events in the list view would be very useful. There are two main use cases for this:

    1) Let's say I cannot remember when exactly a certain event happened or is planned,e.g. "Appointment at the garage to check car". With a search feature, one would just type "car" in the search box and all events with the keyword "car" are displayed in the events list.

    2) I have an event which reoccurs on a not so regular basis, e.g. "Concert with my choir". So I could type "choir" and would get a list of all event…

  2. I would like to import everthing from my Google Calendar to Fruux. While syncing with Google is currently very demanded topic, I think integrating "import tool" would be easier and I would want it more. :)

    Thanks,
    Aimar

  3. As a user I want to be able to add subscriptions to other public calendars from the webapp,
so that you can bundle all your calendars in frux and distribute it easily to the devices

    e.g: http://xy.com/x/y/sfdskjf.ics

  6. In thunderbird/lightning, it is possible to define a reminder for each task, but this feature is not supported by fruux and on my android phone task reminders are missing.

Event reminders works fine, so can you add them on tasks ?

    Thank you.

  8. The Fruux web interface is really great! I want to use it more but find that I have to log in on a regular basis since the login session is very short.

I'd like the option to have a longer session (2 weeks?) if I choose to 'keep me logged in' on a trusted device.

    Thanks!

  9. The ability to drag and drop calendar events would be very useful. This is something I made use of daily with my previous provider.

  10. Let's say you have a contact and they have an office in London and Berlin. You then create a single contact, and enter the phone numbers and addresses for each office. You create a custom type for the first phone number of "London" and "Berlin" for the second. Same for the addresses. The fruux web app handles this perfectly. Unfortunately, the fruux Android app completely loses all these custom types. Please support this essential feature in the Android app. When supporting it, make sure to test with custom types that include spaces, such as "New Brunswick". Thank you in advance!

  11. ....meaning that fruux can be configured to function itself as a device vis-a-vis other sync services (e.g. OwnCloud).
This would allow the user to (a) have copies of his contacts and calendars on two different platforms of his/her choice for back-up purposes and (b) choose for every device with which of the two services and the corresponding settings he/she wants to sync any given device.
The advantage would be (a) a permanent backup and (b) more degrees of freedom for the syncing setup with other devices and/or individuals.

That is actually planned. We already support it for Google Contacts, but we also plan to support generic CardDAV/CalDAV “client-mode” in the future.

  12. One of my favorite features of Mozilla Thunderbird is the ability to create repeating tasks. I haven't tested to see if a repeating task in Thunderbird will work with the fruux app for Android, but I certainly would love the ability to create a repeating task from the fruux app!!!

Repeatable tasks and alarms are fully supported, it’s just our webapp thats still lacking a bit in that regard. Adding this functionality to our webapp is of course planned.

  13. Wouldn't it be nice to see tasks with timestamp in the calendar?

  15. Two factor authentication are a great way to secure the network from insecure passwords. Hardware tokens like Yubikeys are the perfect way to give an alternative log in's. This can be set up as an alternative option in addition to existing methods. For example, a scenario where you may end up loosing your Yubikey, the primary method will still log you in.

  16. Plaxo had a great interface to identify and then manually merge duplicate contacts. It would present the offending contacts and visually mark which entries would be present in the "merged" card. With Google Contacts sync coming (I'm suffering from many duplicate contacts as a result), it would be great to have this.

We plan to provide such functionality in the future.

In the meantime: If you are using a Mac, the Addressbook application has a built-in deduplication function that could help here.

  17. It would be awesome if you could support periodic syncing of profile pictures for the Addressbook from Gravatar.

The only issue I can see is which picture would you use if it's synced from Gravatar and then the user changes the picture of the contact on their phone and then it get's changed on Gravatar again? Maybe only sync profile pictures from Gravatar on contacts which have no pictures? Or just last update wins, always.

    Thanks!

  18. The publishing option for calendars is great! However, I would like the option to publish a calendar such that each event is just showing "busy" and not include the details (event name and place). Many thanks!

  19. In future it would be great if you would offer a matching email adress for you paying cusomers. I really like to have all services from one provider and the only thing missing from fruux currently is an email address.

  20. Gmail style notifications via email for calendar events would be absolutely fabulous. The time on which the email should be sent could be identical to the reminder set up for an event.

A checkbox option could enable or disable this feature for each calendar.
