The reason? My practical experience is that spreadsheets are the most preferred data cleaning platform out there. From novices to advanced computer users I consistently see people either keep their contacts data in spreadsheets or downloading to CSV in order to do cleanups and then replacement uploads. Usually the workaround is to get a (safe) third-party app to do the conversion but if the technology exists, maybe fruux can do it on a built-in basis.
It sounds like the key thing is for fruux to define for its users the target format. But the cool thing is that if a template is created and made available by fruux, I'm sure the rest of us would be happy map our own spreadsheets/CSV files to match.
I'm with you on this one all the way.
