We’re planning to support this as soon as possible. The problem is that there’s no real standard for groups yet (e.g. Apple uses a special non standard vCard for groups, Mozilla Thunderbird uses a different special vCard – none of those are standardized).

All of that will luckily change with the vCard 4.0 standard, which we plan to support as early as possible. So once CardDAV clients support the new vCard 4.0 standard, we’ll also definitely support that, which will result in cross-platform support for groups.

The announcement above is now more than 18 months old and still no vCard 4.0 standard on the horizon as far as I can see. Are there any second thoughts on this feature? I am asking because if one tries to share address books with various people in a team, subdividing the address books into separate address books for each share doesn't seem to be very practical to me. Or is there a feature in fruux that I am missing that allows me to have the same contact live in two address books? At least in the web interface I don't see such option.
